Two Views of Lady Eleanor

Finished one, now on to another

Below I've posted my finished Blue Collar, which I knit in Knit Picks Andean Silk (color-Sangria.) It worked up nicely-the yarn was great to knit with. Finished, it has lots of drape and sheen, and is VERY warm! I love a lot of the patterns in the book, and I'm still contemplating which to knit next. I'll let you know!

Here and There Cables, sort of

Hi everyone! I joined this knitalong a couple of weeks ago, so I figured I should finally post something. I took the Here and There Cables pattern and adapted it to make a baby blanket for sister's baby (she's due in June). I am using two strands of Caron Simply Soft and size 10 1/2 needles. Talk about eating up a lot of yarn! And I am convinced that it is going to be the World's Warmest Baby Blanket! I am happy with how it is turning out, though. I'm not quite done, but here is a picture of my progress so far.

Blizzard Shawl

Maybe I should add some text? The completely finished shawl is huge.
You can see more pics at

"I hate waiting."

the book says finished measurements are 27-28 inches wide, 80 inches
long. Pssshaww!!! It's at least 40" wide, 85-90" long, depending.
It can get longer and narrower, or shorter and wider.

Debbie Bliss/Vintage Velvet

Hey, I've gotten a good bit (what I call a good bit) done on my Debbie Bliss/Vintage Velvet scarf. Here is picture. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v497/Butterflybabe/Projects%20in%20Progress/Apr1207.jpg

I think I'm going to give this to my mom for her birthday on May4th. I'm hoping I can have it done by then.

I am falling in love with this yarn! It's so much fun to work with!

Hi everyone. I've been MIA, and I think knit alongs are not for me. At least, not ones w/o deadlines. When is a procrastinator supposed to finish a project if there's no deadline?
We had a small blizzard here in Colorado yesterday. I thought it would be very apropos to work on my Blizzard shawl. I'm using the same yarn that Scarfstyle suggests, and it's a beaut.

The book says the finished measurements would be about 27.5 inches by about 80 inches. I'm a tight knitter, tight crocheter. I usually use hooks 2 sizes smaller to get gauge. I used the recommended hook (size P), and the finished size (I'll get a pic of it completely finished later... I gotta weave in the ends) is about 40 inches by 85inches. At least. That was before I put the edging on!

In any case, anyone have ideas about how to weave this superbulky yarn into the rest of the shawl? My tapestry needles from Chibi/Clover just aren't gonna do it.

Lady Eleanor Progress

First time posting to this KAL as I am working on the Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole. This will probably turn out to be a felted purse due to the fact this is my first time doing entrelac and I'm getting some holes in my work. Plus, I only have several skeins and not the 10 that I need to finish it. I'm using Noro Kureyon and not what was required for the pattern. I tend to alway use substitute yarns.

So, thanks for letting me post and share my progress.

Lady Eleanor progress

Here is a progress report on my Lady Eleanor. I'm using three different colors of yarn from Handpainted Yarn. They are actually the same color, but different shades. This yarn is SO soft! I highly recommend it. It's turning out a little too wide to be a stole so I think it will be a throw blanket for my couch. This is my first attempt at entrelac and it couldn't be simpler. The directions in the pattern are very easy to follow. I'll be back with a picture when she's finished!

New....Vintage Velvet

I'm new to the knit along. I'm making the Vintage Velvet in Alpaca Silk by Debbie Bliss. I wasn't sure if this would work or not, because as I was working with it, it was so soft that it was almost too hard to work with. But I saw that someone else has used it also for the same scarf. I am going to get another ball of it, because I only got 4. I thought that would be enough, but the other person used 5, so I will go by what they used. I started out using circular size 9's, but I think I might start over and go to straight needles. I think I like that look better. But I haven't really decided yet, because I would have to go out and by the needles, I don't have 9's in straights. And I don't get my needles at the same place I got the yarn. So I might just stick with the circulars. As soon as I get some progress done on it, I will get a picture up. :)
