Vintage Velvet

I have a new project from Scarf Style. My friend wants a scarf for her birthday so I picked this one. I'm using Knit Picks Palette (100% Peruvian wool) in Petal, double-stranded for the scarf. I'm not sure if I'm going to put it through the wash to felt it a little bit - I'll see when I'm done because I didn't use the yarn called for in the pattern. Here is what it looks like so far - I've only done the first 16 rows.



I don't really think the yarn is that bright in person, although it was brighter than I anticipated from the website when I ordered it.

Ok.. I FINALLY figured how to upload photos in the blog.. I joined Picasa... Yippee.. I'm so excited... Only problem is that I was sending this photo to MY Blog pennyknits.blogspot.com/and it came here.. OK OK So a little more practice and I'll figure this thing out.. whew!! :)

OK.. I got all the yarn together for the ripples scarves for my Grandaughters and I think I just picked up the right background yarn that I want to use for the Dragon scarf.. I just HAVE to try that one also...
I am having photo upload problems on my Blog still but maybe I'll get it figured out before I loose all my patients.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hello from Northern California. I stumbled across your Scarf Style blog and have since moved the book to the top of my "wish list". I can't wait to start some of the beautiful scarves.

Being fairly new to knitting (I started Mar 1, 05) some of the scarves may be beyond my limited abilities, but being adventurous with knitting needles, maybe not.

Introducing Myself

Hi,
This is my first post.. I think I am doing it right ?
I absolutely Love the Scarf Style Book and I want to make almost everything that is in it. All I need are a few more hands... :)
I am not really sure which project I will start with but I am sort of leaning towards Enes Scarf..
I will also be wipping up some of the ripple scarves for My grandaughters.. Love those Pom Poms..
The Fair Isle scarf is very intreging. Has anyone done that one yet?

Halfway Through Ene's Scarf

I'm having a great time knitting this shawl/scarf. I'm using a discontinued fingering-weight yarn (K1C2's Madelaine) and US 8 needles.

Another Midwest Moonlight

Here is my finished Midwest Moonlight. I really liked this pattern and enjoyed knitting it. I had never done a pattern with so many yarn overs etc so I wanted to give myself the experience.
