Lady Eleanor- in cotton?

hi everyone. When I joined this knitalong I was really wanting to do Lady E...but struggling to find the yarn I wanted to do her in. now that Spring/summer is coming along, I was thinking of doing her in a handpainted mercerized cotton. Do you think cotton would be too 'heavy' ? I worry about the drape/weight of the FO...though if I did it in a lighter weight it might not matter so much. What do you think? If not cotton, how about silk?

I just finished making bright stripes using cotton classic by Tahki yarns and it's very heavy.
I was thinking of doing Lady E in cotton but not anymore. It would be way too heavy for me to wear comfortably. I'm now thinking of making Lady E in silk garden but maybe alter the width so it isn't as wide.
